  • If you know your Username, you can click the 'forgotten your password' link on the login page and follow the instruction for your pasword to be emailed to you automatically.
  • You can use the login page Feedback button to request further help
  • If you have forgotten your username, please contact your master editor.

I am unable to access part of the system that I previously had access too...
Your system permissions have been changed. This may simply be an Administration error, or your permissions may have been changed for a legitimate reason. You can use the login page Feedback button to request clarification.

I am unable to access sheets that I previously had access too...
Your system permissions have been changed. This may simply be an Administration error, or your permissions may have been changed for a legitimate reason. You can use the Feedback button to request clarification.

This may also be a result of Secure Folders being made available to certain Users. This Folder function allows sheets to be saved in exclusive Folders that can only be accessed by limited groups of Users. A sheet that you had previously been able to access may have been relocated into one of these Secure Folders.

Viewing & downloading
When I download a PDF I get an error message or the file looks wrong...
This is most likely due to a bug in Microsoft Internet Explorer v5.5, to fix this you need to either update you rbrower by downloading the Microsoft Internet Explorer v5.5 Service Pack 2 (SP2) or upgrade your browser to Internet Explorer v6 (if you are unsure how to do this ask your IT departement for assistance). You can see which version of Internet Explorer you have by selecting 'Help' in your browser menu bar, and then selecting 'About Internet Explorer'.

If this action does not solve the problem please use the login page Feedback button to request further assistance.

My PDF has a PROOF watermark - how do I remove this?
When you select "view pdf", the system automatically creates a low resolution (for quicker proofing access) version of that sheet.  The watermark "proof" ensures that the low resolution file cannot be used as a final print.  Once you are happy with the proof then you select "download" button above the pdf view screen and the high resolution version (minus the proof watermark) is downloaded for printing.

My sheets have disappeared...
Sheets can be stored in Folders and a default Folder can be assigned to each template. If a Default Folder is being used you will initially only see sheets that are saved in that Folder and the sheet you are looking for may be in a Folder other the Default Folder. Try selecting a different Folder from the drop-down menu and then click 'Search',  this action will open the selected Folder. You can also select 'All Folders' which will display all sheets.

Images
The image I want to use is not in the system...
All images made available in the system are pre-approved by GMS Image Controllers. If you would like a specific image to be uploaded you will need to make a request. The way that you do this will depend on your Editor status in the system:

Local Editor: email your request to the Template Owner/Master Editor for the template(s) where the image is to be used.
Master Editor: use the system Image Request Form to send a request to the GMS Image Controllers. This form is accessed on the Master Editor main menu.

Content Editing
The text I have entered in the Content Editor is being cropped when I view the PDF...
To allow editing in different languages their is no limit to the amount of text you can enter within the Content Editor, however the output space on the PDF is limited. Most Editing boxes incorporate a Text Preview option (symbolised with a magnifying glass icon), you need to use this Text Preview and see how the text will fit on the PDF output.

When using the Text Preview you will see a white box surrounded by a grey background, any text that overflows into the grey background will be cropped on the PDF. You can return to the Content Editor to edit your text to fit.

The text I have entered in the Content Editor has disappeared in the view pdf window...
This is a common problem encountered when copying/pasting text from another application, ie microsoft word.  On pasting the text, it is inheriting some "formatting" from the original source document.  As the PSS is unfamiliar with the formatting coding it is not outputting the text, hence it "disappearing".

To overcome this, it is recommended that you follow the following steps:
  • Copy your text in a word document and save as a .txt file only.
  • Ensure there are no formatting - ie bullets etc.
  • Copy/paste text into your text box in PSS.
  • Select all text and select "p" from the formatting tool bar.
  • Format your text, ie bullets, bold etc from this stage.

If the problem persists delete all text and manually enter the text and then notify Julie.Marston@johnsondiversey.com of problem.
