Correct Use of ISO Code
The ISO Code that appears on the bottom of sheets has many benefits.
Therefore, it is important that editors follow the guide for correct use of the ISO Code. Sheet Name The sheet name should be the title of the sheet you are creating, ie "softcaresystem". If you are creating sheets for customers, you may wish to add a reference to customer in this sheet, ie "jflex-bunzl". If you are creating a language version that has been approved by several countries, for example a German sheet approved by Switzerland (CH), Germany (DE) and Austria (A). You could add this into your sheet name (CH/DE/A). If you are creating a "draft" brochure over several sessions, preceed your sheet name with the words "draft" to show any users that this is a draft and should not be used. Country Code The country code should ideally be used to show the language origin. For example, FR for French, BFR (Belgium French). This is a vital part of the ISO code as it allows users to easily identify from the menu list the language variations. Version Number Version control is important to ensure that only the most up-to-date version sheets are being used once printed. Date The date is automatically added by the system. If you are revisiting a page it will automatically update. Use the activity report to identify any of your sheets that may need the ISO Code changed. |
